This photo is not the whole beauty haul.. needless to say there is more that I just could not fit into the picture, but I do have a good excuse... Urban Decay truly rocks!!

So here are my thoughts... We all know that when you are young and can wear anything your heart desires, of course Urban Decay is going to be one of the brands you go for.. but what about those of us that have mature skin or are older?? You know me and what I am about to say, even older women can Rock Urban Decay Makeup!!

I am very new to this brand, I know, I know.. I said it before but just in case there is anyone new reading this.. my first real purchase was the Alice Through the Looking Glass Eye-Shadow Palette which is beyond the moon and back.  Than I wrote a blog post called: My Urban Decay Beauty Haul  where I talk about a few wonderful products and NOW I am addicted!!

I have fallen madly in love with the Naked Skin items.. I have the Naked Skin Eye-shadow Palette-3 which is a MUST have!  It is a mixture of matte and a few shimmer eye-shadows that are beautiful soft colors that are rich in pigmentation.  When you put them on they feel like a cream, and last all day until you take your makeup off at night.  For those with hooded eyes, this palette has the right combination that makes your eyes look youthful and alive.  I use the Urban Decay Anti-Aging eye primer before I apply the shadows and it makes a HUGE difference.  

Who says older women cannot wear a shimmering highlighter?  I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated and OMG, it gives you a small amount of shimmer and makes your face look so pretty!! It is microfine shimmer that is baked into a beautiful disk that gives you this beautiful illuminating glow. It is not too shimmery and it is just the perfect highlighter for mature skin (in my humble opinion).

Recently, I have learned a new trick in keeping liner on my waterline all day.  After you use a black liner on your water-line, follow up applying a black eye-shadow to the inner rim with a small angled brush. I have never been so impressed as I am with Urban Decay makeup brushes.  The small angled brush I got just for this purpose came in a beautiful Gothic looking case.  It just totally impressed me to no end!

Now here is the biggie, I have never tried Urban Decay Lipsticks until I watched a video by my friend Vicckers One & aHalf Cents on YouTube!! She was wearing one of the Alice Through the Looking Glass lipsticks and after watching her, I decided to order me the Madhatter Lipstick and need I say, it is all over!! I love the creamy moisture feeling you get from Urban Decay Lipsticks and yet, they have great staying power!! I was so impressed I had to order a couple more of the lipsticks, love them!  To make them last even longer, I apply a loose powder over my lipstick and it makes it stay all day long!!

I am going to do a separate blog post about some other Urban Decay products I am using.. because they deserve full attention.. so do these products but the naked skin concealer and 'other' things... wow!!!

Hooded Eyelids

Mature Eyelids-YES you do have them!!

One of the beautiful (*cough) aspects of getting older is all of the wonderful (*cough) changes our bodies go through.  Awww, yes, the eyes.  Once so youthful and sharp now well.... oh, hell we can fix this!!!  So most mature features has hooded eyes, SO WHAT!! Makeup is one of life's miracles, heck it can fix just about anything that needs a little enhancing or coaching!

So, you cannot notice it that much in this photo because when you are doing selfies, you NEVER EVER look straight on in the phone... I guess you can, but not being photogenic myself, many I have to tilt, look side ways and so on to get a half okay photo!  But I have extreme hooded eyes. I am also learning to work with them instead of disgusted, and dreading looking into a mirror.  I mean, come on... all of us 'mature' women, have worked hard to get to this age... why fight it?  Learn to love what you got and be thankful you got it!! 

1. I have found putting on a good eye primer first all over the eye area works great. It enhances the pigments of the eye-shadow and it makes the eye-shadow long wearing. 

2. Use a light colored cream eye-shadow base. I have two I love, either a solid white base or a pink frosted base.  Place this on your eye lid only!!

3.  Use a light colored dry eye-shadow and PAT that on over the eyelid onto of the cream base. I promise your eyelids will pop!!  Which makes for a great looking eye when you place on eyeliner.

Of course how you wear your eyeliner is your preference.  I have been doing mine two different ways.. but both involve using a Liquid long wearing eyeliner used tight up against my lash line.. and I have started bringing the inner corner down like a cat eye.. just to be different. 

Using this technique will help your eyeliner to not get onto your crease.. of course you need to allow the liquid liner to dry for a few a seconds. By using these simple tips it has helped me a lot. If you have different techniques, please share below!!!

These Bags are not for Traveling

What in the world? Bags under your eyes-O.M.G.!! Well, this is another article in my Mature skin problems. When many of us hits our 40's - 50's- and so on, we start to experience many different strange things.  When we age, fat deposits collects under our eyes causing "Bags" or eating too much salt makes us retain water and the fluid builds up in our eye sacks. Or when we do not drink enough water, the water rushes to these bags because the eyes feels dehydrated.  I have the worst problems with bags under my eyes.. and I refuse to even think about getting surgery. That is just not my kind of road trip!! So instead I research and I do a lot of it.

I have watched numerous video from some fantastic people YouTube. I have read so many articles my bags under my eyes feel like they are loaded with rocks.. but yet, I continue on my quest to try and find answers some where.  I love reading makeup tips from Cosmopolitan, they often have some great tips and tid-bits that can help many of us. They had a list of the top 10 eye creams and at first I was going to add them, but decided against it.  But this was pretty interesting, they said the skin under our eyes is 10 times more thinner than the other skin on our face.  What?  And it goes on to say that it ages 36% more faster.  Good Grief I did not know that!!

Okay so they say using L'Oreal Revitalift is an excellent eye cream and was listed number one on the list.  Hmm.. So L'Oreal Revitalift triple Power Eye Treatment contains hyaluronic acid which steeps into the skin and plumps the skin up. The container has a metal tip and supposedly that helps to shrink bags. Wouldn't putting spoons in the freezer do the same thing?

So, bags under the eyes.. Aging, Generics, Fluid build up, not enough sleep, water retention... what can we do?  Elevate our heads at night by using two pillows..I do that, no change. Bags under the eyes in not generic in my family that I know of... so that leaves the one thing that I do know a little about.. "MAKEUP".  Hide'em and keep on keeping on.

When you look into a mirror, put your head down, like your are putting your chin to your chest.  By doing this you will see the dark shadows that the bags are casting over your eyes. This is what I do, if you do it different, I promise it will not break any kind of etched rules.  I put my concealer on under my foundation.. many will put it on over the foundation. It does not matter which way you do it!!  Use a small angled brush that fits in the shadowed area fairly good.  Place some concealer a shade lighter than your normal skin tone. DO NOT RUB THE CONCEALER ON.. Pat it into the shadow area.  Next use a loose powder and lightly pat onto the concealer to seal it.
