As most months once again BoxyCharm did not disappoint me.  Actually, they sort of impressed me as they do most months.  But as I said in my YouTube video, there is nothing you can be 100% satisfied with 100% of the time.. and if by chance you can, it is very seldom.

BoxyCharm like Ipsy makes each of us look forward to next months glambags.  They both have this way of building our excitement, which is fun but as they say curiosity can also drive a woman bonkers. *laughs* Here is my YouTube Video I made for this months makeup subscriptions I subscribe to. 

In our BoxyCharm May 2016 we got a beautiful Makeup Geek powder blush.  I have not used a lot of Makeup Geeks products, but this blush was very pigmented and such a beautiful color. I am pretty impressed with it.  But a little GOES a long way!!

We received a Purr double duo eyeliner which is fantastic.  On one end it is a roll up kohl liner that can be used for a smokey eye effect and/or to wear on your water line.  The other end is a felt tip liner that can be used for a very fine line. It would be perfect to use for a very defined wing.

We also received a beautiful nude colored lip-liner by Starlooks.  Now I was introduced to Starlooks by BoxyCharm in the very first box I got from them.  Needless to say, I love Starlooks, their products has a wonderful staying power.  I have not used the lip-liner yet, but I know for a fact that the eyeliner last all day when you apply it.

There was an eye brow gel in the box that I absolutely love.  It is by Tonya Crooks and it is a clear gel which works for everyone. The only thing I can say besides I love this product and it keeps my eyebrows tamed and in place is it is taking me a little time to get use to the bigger brush end. Most of the eyebrow gels I have used has a smaller wand.  I am not complaining because I am very impressed with how the gel works.

We got a beautiful mint green color nail polish by Ella Mila.  The container is cute as a button with an elephant on it.  And this has nothing to do with the product itself, but the elephant's trunk is going upwards which is always a good sign.  The nail polish went on good.  It is very pigmented and I suppose it could take one coat for a beautiful effect.  It also removed very easily which I always appreciate in a nail polish.  The color is great for spring/summer!!

Last but not least we were sent a beautiful scented perfume sample by Catherine Malandrino. This will be perfect to wear during the summer months.  It has a flora/sweet/patchouli scent (I can smell a tiny bit of musk-but that could just be me). Needless to say, it is a beautiful scent.

That is our May 2016 BoxyCharm Box... pretty impressive don't you agree?  The first box I ever got with them literally blew me away.. I got an eye-shadow palette, set of eye shadow brushes and other products. This photo is not the whole beauty haul.. needless to say there is more that I just could not fit into the picture, but I do have a good excuse... Urban Decay truly rocks!!

So here are my thoughts... We all know that when you are young and can wear anything your heart desires, of course Urban Decay is going to be one of the brands you go for.. but what about those of us that have mature skin or are older?? You know me and what I am about to say, even older women can Rock Urban Decay Makeup!!

I am very new to this brand, I know, I know.. I said it before but just in case there is anyone new reading this.. my first real purchase was the Alice Through the Looking Glass Eye-Shadow Palette which is beyond the moon and back.  Than I wrote a blog post called: My Urban Decay Beauty Haul  where I talk about a few wonderful products and NOW I am addicted!!

I have fallen madly in love with the Naked Skin items.. I have the Naked Skin Eye-shadow Palette-3 which is a MUST have!  It is a mixture of matte and a few shimmer eye-shadows that are beautiful soft colors that are rich in pigmentation.  When you put them on they feel like a cream, and last all day until you take your makeup off at night.  For those with hooded eyes, this palette has the right combination that makes your eyes look youthful and alive.  I use the Urban Decay Anti-Aging eye primer before I apply the shadows and it makes a HUGE difference.  

Who says older women cannot wear a shimmering highlighter?  I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated and OMG, it gives you a small amount of shimmer and makes your face look so pretty!! It is microfine shimmer that is baked into a beautiful disk that gives you this beautiful illuminating glow. It is not too shimmery and it is just the perfect highlighter for mature skin (in my humble opinion).

Recently, I have learned a new trick in keeping liner on my waterline all day.  After you use a black liner on your water-line, follow up applying a black eye-shadow to the inner rim with a small angled brush. I have never been so impressed as I am with Urban Decay makeup brushes.  The small angled brush I got just for this purpose came in a beautiful Gothic looking case.  It just totally impressed me to no end!

Now here is the biggie, I have never tried Urban Decay Lipsticks until I watched a video by my friend Vicckers One & aHalf Cents on YouTube!! She was wearing one of the Alice Through the Looking Glass lipsticks and after watching her, I decided to order me the Madhatter Lipstick and need I say, it is all over!! I love the creamy moisture feeling you get from Urban Decay Lipsticks and yet, they have great staying power!! I was so impressed I had to order a couple more of the lipsticks, love them!  To make them last even longer, I apply a loose powder over my lipstick and it makes it stay all day long!!

I am going to do a separate blog post about some other Urban Decay products I am using.. because they deserve full attention.. so do these products but the naked skin concealer and 'other' things... wow!!!

Milani Makeup Haul

I believe throughout the years I may have tried Milani's nail polish because there was this color that my sister-in-law loved she much that is all she would wear.  She ended up getting me a bottle for Christmas or visa-versa, besides that I am not sure I have tried any of their products.

Milani Powdered Blush-Flora Passion

There are a ton of reviews out about Milani Makeup so I thought I would order a few things from their site and see what I thought.  I was on Twitter and seen this beautiful blush that was in the shape of a rose in the compact, and I just had to check it out further.  Come to find out it was a Milani Blush and I found their site and ordered it.

I am actually really impressed with this blush. I ordered Flora Passion which is a Medium Tone Mauve color and/or a light Rose Color.  The blush goes on beautiful, it is not heavy and so pigmented that you need to be extremely light on the usage.  All in All I like this blush and on a scale 1-10 I would give it a '10'

Milani Lip Creme-Amore Matte-Allure

Another item I have seen a few reviews about is their lipstick or should I say, Milani Lip Creme which I got in the color Amore Matte-Allure.  The Amore is a beautiful rich rose color that goes perfect with the blush I ordered. 

The lipstick (or lip Creme) goes on very smooth and creamy.  I love the applicator which is not a doe foot but instead somewhat flat on both sides. It makes for an easy application and it is always easy to line your lips.  The color is pigmented so it only takes one application to have a rich beautiful color. It does take a few minutes to dry and when it does it dries Matte which I love!  It is long wearing...now ever since I found the tip about using press powder on your lipstick, I have been doing that. So there is no transfer and with the powder it is kiss proof!  I like this lip creme well enough that I will be ordering some additional colors. So on a scale 1-10 I give it an easy '10'

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment-Rose Hip Oil Infused

Along with all of my other obsession, lip treatments is among my list of products.  Milani has several lip treatments so I decided to try one and give my thoughts on that as well. In the lip treatment I ended up getting the Rose Hip oil Repair Treatment that also contains primrose.

I used it after doing my night cleansing routine and this morning my lips felt smooth, soft and truly healthy.  I have a very hard time with my lips, products usually do not work, but this little gem worked like a charm!  The applicator is very different than what I am use to.  It is a larger applicator that is some what roundish.  I REALLY liked it a lot!  This is one product I would highly recommend and I intend to keep it part of nightly cleansing routine.  On a scale 1-10 I would give it a '15' if I could.. instead I give it a full '10'.

If you have never tried Milani makeup, I strongly encourage you to check out their site. They have not only great products, but their packaging is great as well. Yep, another makeup brand I am crazy about!!

I Jumped Into the Rabbit Hole

Okay, where do I begin? I honestly do feel like I have fallen into the Rabbit hole in the story Alice in Wonderland.  I kept seeing this Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Limited Edition Eye-Shadow Palette, and honestly felt like a deer dazed by headlights.

First, I have never used Urban Decay eye shadow's before. Second, I have never purchased a limited edition eye shadow palette before and third after watching a ton of YouTube reviews about this palette, I got scared!  I do not know what people usually pay for eye shadow palettes like this but I would have never paid this price IF I wasn't sure I would love it!

Many of the YouTube reviews I watched geared towards mature skinned people commenting that these shadows are great for the younger generation, but not so wonderful for mature skin.  That sort of shocked me, I may be 58 but damn, does that mean mature women should not wear these colors?  Well, I plan on doing a YouTube video hopefully this week sometime and give a full review on this palette.  But I also wanted to write a blog post about it because like I said, I am new to Urban Decay eye shadows, this kind of palette and paying this price for something like this... so here goes!!

I love, love, love Alice in Wonderful, I purchased the new release of it back in 2010 (I believe it was) and have watched the movie a dozen or more times. AND NOW, OMG.. I can barely contain myself waiting for May 27, 2016 for Alice Through the Looking Glass to be released! Okay, I know we are talking about this eye shadow palette!!

My First Eye-Shadow looking using Urban Decay Shadows

I LOVE THIS ALICE THOUGH THE LOOKING GLASS EYE-SHADOW PALETTE... plain and simple. I may be 58 years old, but this girl plans on wearing every color in it! When I got the package this afternoon, I knew I would have to take off the eye-shadow I was wearing because there was NO way I was going to wait until tomorrow to try it.  So I was able to take off my previous eye-shadow without messing up the rest of my makeup.  This is my first look, using Alice Through the Looking Glass Eye-shadow's. 

Okay, the palette comes with 20 bright beautiful color eye-shadows in the most beautiful packaging I have ever seen in my life. It was the packaging that drew me to purchasing the kit in the first place. But now I love the whole damn package!  The colors are VERY pigmented, there are a few matte eye-shadows and the others do have a little shimmer that is beyond beautiful. The shadows feel creamy going on... they are fantastic!!  It comes with a double sided brush that is as colorful as the packaging and I like it a lot!! Most of the reviews I have watched said they didn't like the brush at all!!  What? 

Here are the color of eye-shadows I have on to create the look in the photo:  I used "Looking Glass", over the whole eye area.  I used "Cake" above the crease (I do have hooded eyelids, but this still can work!) I mixed "Dream On" and "Gone Mad" together and used that inside the crease and blended it outwards to the end.  I used "Cake" under my lower lashes and mixed "Dream On" and "Gone Mad" and went half way across over the cake on the bottom lashes.  I used "Royal Flush" under my eyebrow and lightly dusted it over "Cake" and "Gone Mad".  So my first journey of using this palette was with five of the colors and I COULD NOT be more happy with this purchase!

Its All About the Eyes

Well, here we are it is Monday, and I have already been playing with some new makeup. Before today I never tried either of these eye shadows by Wet & Wild or Tyra Banks. I already know I like them both, that is why I am going to share my thoughts with you. 

Wet & Wild Eye-shadow Pallet

First, I paid $6.99 for this Wet & Wild Eye Shadow Pallet at Walgreen's.  Since 'gold' is the thing for spring I wanted to get this pallet because even the brown colors have gold flecks in them.  My first thought (and shame on me for prejudging) is I thought there would be a lot of fall out when applying the eye-shadows.  My bad, seriously... the fall out was not half as bad as some very expensive brands I have tried and used. The pigmentation is fantastic, and it blends out like a dream. In the opening picture, I am wearing four of the wet & wild eye-shadows blended out really light.  I would recommend this pallet, seriously.  You cannot be the price and it is well worth it.  So on a scale 1-10 I will give it a '10'

Tyra Banks-Eyes in a Stick Eye-shadow

Where in the world do I start with this one?  The day I got them in the mail the first thing I did was run each one across my hand to check for two things: (1) Pigmentation (2) Lasting Power.  I got my mail sometime early afternoon and I immediately did the test.  By 12-1 that night/morning the marks were still on my hands.  AFTER washing off my makeup (meaning getting my hands wet), the marks were STILL on my hand.  I finally got the makeup off of my hand my using a facial makeup remover cloth. YES Virginia, these eye-shadows last a very long time!!

I ended up getting three shades, bubbly which is a like a light peach color on my complexion, Green which has beautiful gold flecks in it and violet which is a little shimmery it looks like flecks of silver to me.  Regardless, they are beyond wonderful!!  I have brown eyes, depending on my mood, they can either be dark brown or light brown and all three of these colors go GREAT with brown eyes.

The formula of these eye-shadows feel like butter. They go on smooth and blend like a dream.  But like I said earlier the lasting power of these eye-shadows is amazing.  I am so impressed with them that I had to order two more colors.  There is a total of six shades:  Bubbly (light peach) Sand Dollar (light Bronze) Green (Hazel Green with Gold Flecks) Violet (metallic plum) Brown (chocolate brown with gold pearl) and Black (Gold and Black =Blold) 

1. I drew a side way v shape-above my crease

2. I drew a line half way across my lash line

3. I drew a line completely across my bottom lash line.

Afterwards, I took a small blending brush and smoked the eye-shadow out. Like I said, this green is the most beautiful green shadow I have ever wore... !!
