Loving Hard Candy

makeup review on Hardcandy lipstick

This is going to go against everything I have said about my lipsticks.. You know I am a lip-stain kinda of girl... but I think I found something that I love. So here is the scoop.....

I was going through Twitter (I believe) and was watching this lady do a review on this product (different colors but same product).  I tried to find this lip color but couldn't. So today I thought I would try my local Walmart again and sure enough, they had this item. They do not have a lot of colors to choose from but here is my thoughts on Hard Candy's Velvet Mousse.

First and foremost, I freaking LOVE the packaging!! That within itself sold me.  The lip product comes in this adorable little tin and it has a mirror on the lid.  The tin is artistic, will protect the product, and it can easily fit inside your purse with no problem.

When you open the tin, there is a plastic covering over the lipstick which prevents anyone from tampering with it. Another big thing with me!! When I purchase anything at the store in the makeup department, I reach for the very back item, chances of it being tampered with is a lot less than the item in the front.  So on a scale 1-10 for the packaging.. I would easily give this product packaging a 10!!

When you open the tube of lipstick, it has a sponge applicator, which I personally love.   To me, it makes for an easier application, especially around the cupids bow.  I love the feeling of the lipstick, it is soft, smooth and matte which I absolutely love. The pigment is great, it only takes one coat to get a very good layer of color on your lips.  Once you blot your lips, I swear it looks like your lips are velvet.  I got the color 'Sweet Pea'.  It is a beautiful light pink color that is perfect for spring and/or summer. A very girlie-girl color.

I am going to have to admit, wearing this lipstick is a lot different than wearing a lip-stain. It does not dry out your lips, it leaves them soft, and feeling fantastic. HOWEVER, I hate having to reapply lipstick... that is why I wear a lip-stain. BUT, if you were going to wear a lipstick just to run a few errands and it did not matter if it wore off in a couple of hours or not, this lipstick would be perfect for that.

It would NOT pass the kissing test!!! If you kiss someone when wearing this lipstick, your partner will have whatever color lips of the shade you are wearing. Here is the bottom line, I really like this lipstick. I am amazed how it makes my lips feel. Yes, I would purchase it again and plan too in a different color. I cannot give it a 10 though.. Sorry Hard Candy, I just wish it stayed on longer than it does.  So on a scale 1-10,  I would give the lipstick itself a  solid "9"

I would love to hear your thoughts... please share!!

Younique Pigment Powders

https://www.youniqueproducts.com/EvaThomas/business

You know when you fall in love with something, and how you get this great feeling inside, which makes you have a great feeling on the outside? That is how I feel about Younique's Pigment powders!! I am in love with these two colors-Glamorous and Vulnerable.

Being a new Younique Presenter, I am just learning about a lot of the products. I have been purchasing a few items as I go along, but to be straight up and honest with you, I have to love the product before I can promote it. So I ordered a few of Youniques Pigment Eye Powders and now I am completely hooked.

I have to say, the pictures do not do these pigment powders justice! The colors are so bright and beautiful! They come in 34 different shades including matte and shimmered. The pigments are made of finely milled minerals, amino acids, and vitamins-nutritional for your skin.

You can apply these powders wet for a dramatic pop of color. What I do is spray a little rosewater onto my liner brush and dip into the pigments and use these beautiful colors as eyeliners.  Using them damp, the richness of the color enhances and makes a great lasting liner.  If you want a softer look, using the powders dry gives you just a soft velvet look. Wearing them either way, they have great lasting power!

In this photo,  I am wearing the Glamorous which is a beautiful burgundy color and vulnerable which is a beautiful pink.  It is light enough to wear over my whole lid as a base color.

Steps:

-Put on an eye-primer. Very Important for staying power!!

-I used vulnerable dry and placed a light coat over my whole eyelid area.

-I sprayed a little rosewater onto a shadow brush and added Glamorous in the corner by the crease.

Blend well, so the two colors join together so you do not see a line of separation.

-I sprayed another brush (a liner brush) with rosewater and used glamorous as an eyeliner on the lower lash line.. and smoked it out a little with a black eyeliner.

Who doesn't love to save money?

This came to me this morning reading Gayle Crabtree's blog about her budget vacation to NYC!! I am still in shock with that, $350.00 for a vacation in NYC during Christmas!!! Fantastic!! Who does not love things that involve's saving money!! I am a coupon clipper, so I am personally here to tell you, I love saving money.

I am a new Younique Presenter.  I joined Younique the end of January and honestly, I love what the company involves. One of the main reasons I joined Younique besides having the opportunity to make money is what the company stands for. Not only does Younique empower women but they have a foundation donation program to help women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It is a U.S. based organization, that inspires hope in women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse and they empower the parents to protect their children and lead the public dialogue about the epidemic of childhood sexual abuse. THAT ALONE CAUGHT MY HEART.

Younique is the first direct-sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through social media. All of the virtual parties have no limits, you can invite anyone you like. Hosting a party is as easy as sharing a link.. that is it!! I set up a FaceBook group for your party, and I will do everything else. All you do is invite people, the more you get involved as far as asking questions and so forth, the more your guest will interact.  So where does all of this budget saving money talk come in, you ask?

The host of the virtual parties earns points that go towards (1) earning products at 1/2 off of the regular price AND (2) they earn Y-Cash which is used to purchase Younique products.  As an example, let's say the hostess earned (1) product at 1/2 off and $20 in Y-Cash.  She can purchase a $49.00 product for $4.50.  $49 divided by two is $24.50, subtract $20 Y-Cash and that leaves a total of $4.50.  THAT is a budget deal!!! That is just an example.. the more sales your party earns the more you make as the hostess!!!

There use to be a time when a person that sold makeup and skin care had to purchase a huge inventory, make appointments and go to people's houses, hold demonstrations and hopefully they would make a sale or book a party to help compensate for the gas, time, and effort it took for that demonstration.  Being a Younique Presenter, you do not need to do that... you do not need to purchase a large inventory, book outside parties and go to people's home.. (you can if you want, but it is not necessary).  The only thing we do as Presenters is set up the group to hold the virtual parties, explain the products, answer questions, share stories (if you want).

If you would like to attend a party I am currently holding one, please join me at: Eva's Younique Party on FaceBook. If you would like to read more about Younique please click here.  To me, it is a win-win situation, the more you as the hostess puts into the party, the more successful it will be.  I do a little extra something for my hostess... but you will have to book a party and see what I do.  Hope to see you soon!!!

Have a beautiful day and remember:  Everything is magical and whimsical; we just need to allow our self to see it.

Whimsical Makeup by WhiteOak-My First Design

whimsical makeup by whiteoak

I officially did one of my Whimsical Makeup Designs yesterday on a real person!! *laughs* Okay, what I have  been doing is creating different whimsical makeup designs. I sketch them out in a sketchbook, I color them in either using colored pencils that are also watercolors.  Sometimes I have used actual makeup on the designs so I can get a clear picture in my mind of exactly what I want to achieve. This design is one I am calling  'Snow Princess', the model is my beautiful sister. This project was not a 30-minute makeup job and we were through! It actually took longer than I thought or had hoped it would.

The cons of this experience are:

-I was not organized- as a Makeup Artist (although I am only a student) I should have been more organized than I was.  I truly had my brushes scattered everywhere.. my makeup was everywhere.. I was 100% unorganized to the max!!!!!!

-I should not have allowed my beautiful sister to do a couple of the makeup things she did, like applying the false eyelashes and lining her waterline. A Professional Makeup Artist would not have done that (although again, I know I am only a student) I know it is going to sound like an excuse but it truly isn't.. I do not have the experience applying makeup to someone who wears contact lenses. My main concern was keeping her eyes safe.

-I do not feel, I had my lights at the right angle.  Lighting is everything when you are doing makeup.  Now I realize I should have done two things: Used both of my lights and I should have ordered a higher chair (a director's chair is what they are called I believe)

The Pros of the experience:

-I felt really good about the contour job I did on my sisters face, especially her nose.

-I felt I am getting my blending techniques down better, I loved how her eyeshadow came out, and that was blending about six different shades of eyeshadow together.

-I feel I finally broke the ice.  I have more confidence in knowing my next design process will go smoother because I learned a lot from this experience.

A little about my Whimsical Design: Snow Princess

When I drew this design out, my intention was to use a lot of glitter (the more sparkles the better).  Often when you look at snow, usually there is a very light lavender tint, hence the reason, I used purple and pink tones together. I blended three different shades of pink glitter and the Whimsical swirls with the rhinestones is one of my trademarks in all of my designs.

Until next time.. remember, Everything is magical and whimsical we just need to allow our self to see it.

Judith August Cosmetics

makeup review on judith august products

As most of you know, I have been doing a ton of research for different cosmetic products because of my Makeup Artist Course. When I found the item I am about to tell you about, I honestly feel like I found gold.

As I have mentioned many times before on my blog WhiteOak's World, I have really bad skin issues. My skin issues are at a point that I refuse to go without foundation.  I have no excuses and no one to blame, my skin issues are from me being lazy and/or not really thinking about the consequences of what I was doing. Like many of million other people, I too use to love laying in the sun, wanting to get the beautiful bronze colored skin. There is nothing I can do about it today, except learn how to hide and/or mask it the best way I can.

So during all of my research, I had found where using orange correction cream, will help to cover discoloration and brown spots really well.  I researched found a few different brands, got them and they were either TOO orange, TOO light orange, or did nothing to cover the areas I needed to cover.  Another time I was researching bags and dark circles and that is when I found Judith August Cosmetics!

At this point, I was using Mac orange correction stick, and although it was okay.. I still needed something better.  I went directly to Judith's website and found several things I had to have, including a book called Gotcha Covered... I just started reading it, and I am already in love with the book, I know it is going to be a great asset to my career! Without even thinking twice, I got her Orange Masking Cream and the book and something else. When I got them yesterday (March 3rd-2016) I wanted to try the product so bad but waited until today.

Don't be frightened, but here is a before and after photo after using the orange masking creme:

makeup review for judith august products

HUGE, HUGE difference, don't you think? It makes me want to cry personally. The product is easy to use, it is creamy, and oh my goodness, to me it is as good as gold. The pallet comes in a little sleeve with a black sponge, a little spatula, and an instruction booklet on how to use the product. Judith honestly thought of everything!!  It takes very little product...to get the job done.  I will be writing a review on her book as soon as I finish it.

Here is the link to go straight to this little pot of gold!!  Orange Masking Creme

Of course, when I opened the package, I was too excited to read the directions, so this is how I applied it.  After I put my primer on, I dabbed a little of the orange masking creme all over the brown area using a concealer brush. Next I used a sponge and gently blotted it over the area using a tapping motion, I did not rub it in. Afterwards,  I added a little bit of loose powder to seal it in.  From that point, I put on my foundation (again dabbing it on, not rubbing it in) and the above picture is the final result. I did that this morning and here we are well into late afternoon.. and my makeup looks the same as when it did when I first applied it.  The actual 'After' picture was taken just a few minutes ago.

I am in love with this product no doubt.. on a scale one to ten?  I would give this product a ten-fifteen times!!

My Younique Pinky Look

This is my first post talking about a full face Younique look. So I am pretty excited about it.. I have been a Younique Presenter now for just a tiny bit over a month, and I am madly in love it. Not only the company and what it stands for, but with the products that are beyond fantastic!!  So I will walk you through the steps and how I achieved my Younique Pinky Look!!

https://www.youniqueproducts.com/EvaThomas/business

First and foremost, since I started my QC Makeup Artist class and started doing all of the research I do, I have become very aware of my skin and the proper way to take care of it. I suppose I was either too lazy to keep up with it, or I just was not as aware as I should have been taking better care of my skin. But as they say, it is never too late to start any journey, hence me and my skin.

The first thing I used on my face was Youniques Shine Eye and Makeup Removal Clothes. I will admit it and I am not ashamed, I am madly in love with this item!! The cloth makes your skin feel clean, soft and healthy.

Next, I used Divine Daily Moisturizer.  It makes your face feel hydrated and so soft. The moisturizer is very light feeling, it is not heavy like many moisturizers I have used.

After the moisturizer, I used the Glorious Face & Eye Primer. Can we say LOVE THIS!!  It takes very little product to give you the most beautiful canvas to start working on.

On my face, I am using the Touch Mineral Cream Foundation in the color Chiffon.

On my eyes, I am wearing the 3D Fiber Lash Mascara, Glamorous and Vulnerable Eye Pigment powders and Dainty cream shadow in the very corner. I used the glamorous pigment dry on the V area of my eye and I sprayed my brush with rosewater to dampen the pigments and I lined under my bottom lashes.  On my waterline I am wearing Proper Precision Eye Pencil.

On my lips I am wearing Posh lipliner. I not only outlined my lips but I filled them in with the lipliner as well. On top of that I put the Sultry lip stain.

If you are interested in learning more about the products I have used, please click on this link Eva's Younique Party and click on shop and you will be able to learn more about the different products that Younique offers.  If you are interested in having your own party and earning 1/2 off products and Y-Cash that you can use to get FREE products the link is on the same page to let me know.

How long will they go ?

https://www.youniqueproducts.com/EvaThomas/business

I recently became a Younique Presenter, here is my web page. The reason I became a presenter was to add onto my adventure as a QC Makeup Academy student. I have loved makeup all of my life and decided I wanted to start a new career in my mature years.  You are never too old to start a new journey in life! So, I found Younique's product to be very interesting to a point I wanted to stock some of the products in my makeup artist case.

After doing a lot of research, reading different articles, watching different video's and listening to people share their experience with one of Younique's products, I thought why not share my view. There is no doubt that Youniques Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes has hit the news big time on the internet.

Youniques Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes in among one of the most unique; makeup products I have ever used. The product only comes in black. You will receive two tubes of mascara products, one tube is a gel and the is a tube of fibers.  The tubes come in a nice little snap closure pouch and it also comes with an instruction booklet.

https://www.youniqueproducts.com/EvaThomas/business

You begin by applying a coat of gel.  I have learned, only work on one eye at a time. If you try doing both eyes at once, the fibers will not stick to the gel as well.  I have found and also have seen videos that talk about when you are applying your gel, be sure to apply it to the front and back of your lashes. Wait a couple of seconds and apply the second tube that holds the fibers. Wait a second and add another layer of gel.  For most people one layer gives them the length they want, so they stop there.  I have personally stopped at two layers, but I have to tell you.. my mind wants to know how long will they go

I do love this mascara, I have never used anything like it before. One of my favorite things is, the mascara does not feel heavy on my lashes AND it stays put until you take it off. I can only say good things about this product.  You just have to remember: after you apply the fibers be sure to seal them with another coat of gel. That is very important!

So I would love to see, or watch any videos you may have that shows how long you have taken your lashes!!  If you share the link, I would be than happy to post it on this page. So until next time, if you would like to follow me, I will follow you back.
