Another Favorite Mascara

Truly, this mascara is amazing for its price range

It is no secret my favorite of all favorite mascara's is Smack my Fat Lash!! I wrote about, I tell people about it, I give it as gifts, I use it daily, I honestly believe it is the Holy Grail of the higher end mascara's.  

I ordered this Essence mascara after watching a YouTube video about its sister mascara called: Lash Princess Volume Mascara review.  This mascara is called: Lash Princess. First and foremost, I have to say I love the packaging!  I love the black tube with the green designs because it reminds me of a corset.  Actually I believe that is what it is suppose to resemble. Regardless, the packaging sold me first.  Second was the price.. on Ulta it cost $4.99 and for a five dollar mascara you automatically think there is no way it could be as good of a product as the higher end mascara's.  Maybe it is not as good as an higher end mascara, but it does do a very good job for a mascara in its price range.

The formula is just right.  It is not thin, nor is it thick and gummy. The brush tapers more to a point on the end which makes reaching your finer lashes even easier.  This formula helps to build volume as well as length.  This mascara is opthalmologically tested, and NOT tested on animals.

I will put one coat on and let it set for a few minutes and than apply another coat. It makes my lashes long. However, there is one thing I found with it, although it may be my fault because I may have forgotten to put on power under my eyes, after a little while I did have raccoon eyes. The mascara is not waterproof, nor smudge proof.. and it does wash off easily. But it does add good length and volume to your lashes.

So on a scale 1-10 I have to give Lash Princess Volume and Lengthening Mascara a solid '8'.

Hard Candy Face Primer

A Primer Set worth Having

It is no secret, when you go into a store and head straight to the makeup section, if feels like you have walked into a HUGE candy store! It makes a woman's heart feel like a little girl again, playing with makeup like when she was a child (or an adult!).  Have you ever just stood in front of a makeup section and dream about having one of everything?  Okay, maybe I should have called this post, Confession of a Makeup Junkie!  

Hard Candy is a pretty interesting makeup company. One thing is for sure, they know how to package their products in a way that is eye catching. I wrote a review called Loving Hard Candy about a deliciously beautiful lip mousse!! What impressed me about the lipstick besides feeling fantastic on your lips is the packaging. It came in a cute little flower tin with a mirror on the inside.  Well, worth the few bucks ($8.00 I think) it cost!!

So I was checking out their primer and needed to find a makeup setting spray because I returned I was using.  So Hard Candy had several different primers, a lot of primers with correction colors, sheer primers, long lasting primers (which is what I got).  The primer is a nude color but goes on clear and it is very thick.  I may use the amount of about the size of a dime for my whole face. It goes onto your face beautifully.  It does not feel heavy or thick, but instead light and airy. I love how my makeup goes on after applying the primer!! Like most primers, your makeup goes on smoother, and it last all day.   This primer is the Sheer Envy 12 hour power and gives you a flawless application. It cost $6.00 at Walmart!! On a scale 1-10 an easy '10'.

The Fast and Fabulous Setting spray, I am still working on.  I love how it keeps my makeup in place, the mist is just not as fine I like it. Besides the spray not being as a fine mist as I like, the lasting power of it is fantastic! According to the bottle, it claims that regardless of weather conditions, this spray will keep your makeup in place, and your makeup will not melt, crease, or fade!!  Here is what I know so far, I live in Georgia.. Georgia goes from a very short winter to a very long summer.. we are already in the 80's here and it is late April. Knock on wood, my makeup has been holding up really good in the heat.  The setting spray cost $8.00 at Walmart.. on a scale 1-10 I have to an 8, only because I like a finer mist!!

Rimmel London Provocalips

Drug Store Brand Lipstick Series-Part One

It appears that lately I have been researching so many lipsticks that I wanted to share with everyone things I have found I really like, and things that get a total two thumbs down. So throughout time, I will be writing short reviews about different lipsticks I find.  Starting with this little jewel by Rimmel London.

Cute as Cute can Be

First I just wanted to start by saying, how adorable is this packing? I mean, seriously, these little lips on the packing sets it off.  Another thing I really like is the name of the color is also printed on the tube. Many lipsticks do not have the name of the color on the package, and others have the name on the tube on the bottom, and the print is so small it is hard to read. 

Rimmel London Provocalips is a liquid lipstick that last 16 hours.  The tube has a sponge applicator that is doe foot.  The tube also has two products, one end is the lip color and the other end is lock and shine balm.  Both ends are marked, Step One and Step Two.

The formula of this provocalips is creamy, soft and light.  My first thought was, there is no way this could be a lasting color lipstick.  It takes just a minute or two for it to dry and when you achieve the color you want (One coat does a beautiful job-but you may want it darker) apply the step two which is the lock and shine. This is when I realized this lipstick was going to last. When I applied the lock and shine, NO product came off on the brush.. NONE!!  

I have been wearing this lipstick for a couple of hours at least now, and it is looks and feels as good as it did when I first applied it. The 'feel' of it on your lips is unreal.  It remain creamy feeling, light and is NOT drying on your lips.  The color I have is called "Wish Upon a Berry" and it is a matte finish.  Yes, I will be adding additional colors to my collection.  The lipstick cost $6.99 online.. when I find it in the store, I am almost positive it will be the same price. Right now though.. Ulta.com is having a special if you purchase one at $6.99 you get 50% off of the second one. THAT deal will not be in the stores I am almost sure of. 

I am giving Rimmel London Provocalips a thumbs up and on a scale of 1-10 An Easy "10"

Revised:  I ended up liking this lipstick so much I got me another two shades from Walmart. Walmart's price ended up being $6.47

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lipsticks

My ColourPop Collection

It takes me about 2 seconds to become hooked on something..as most of you know I love lipstick as much as I love mascara's.  But I am also very picky when it comes to both.. especially my lipsticks.  If they do not stay in place, they are not staying in my collection. Nothing is worst than having lipstick smeared on your face or the person you are kissing's face. Nope just doesn't cut it for me.. okay so here are my thoughts about ColourPop Lippies!

ColourPop sells more than just lipstick, they sell, the best gel liners both for eyes and lips which I am going to write a post about very soon. Okay, ColourPop's Lipsticks comes in a tube with a regular doe foot sponge applicator.  You get 3.2 g of product.. Yes, they are regular size tubes of liquid lipsticks.  The packaging is bright and fun, I mean, damn for $6.00 a tube for lipstick you cannot go wrong-period.

To me, the formula of the lipstick is sort of thin. Some liquid lipsticks are creamy going on but these are not. Although the formula is thin, it is VERY pigmented and when it dries, it dries Matte. The product will last on your lips, like most long wearing lipsticks if you eat greasy food, yes, the product will wear off, but all in all... you CANNOT go wrong with these lipsticks! 

On each page the lipstick is posted, under the product they have lip-liner suggestions that goes with that lipstick color.  By them doing that,  it just makes everything so easy. I will tell you, the lip liners and eye liners both are so beyond fantastic.

ColourPop does have a wide selection of colors, very light to very dark. Most of the shades I have which you will see in the video are light springtime colors. I do have a few darker shades that will be perfect for Autumn and Winter.
